India pale ale is a stronger and more bitter hoppy beer
Lagers are a relatively modern creation. An effervescent beer which is light, pale, golden, amber in colour and light in body. It uses a process of cool fermentation, followed by maturation in cold storage.

Stout is a dark beer made using roasted malt or roasted barley with gives it a distinctive roasted flavor.
Porter
Porter is a dark, almost black, fruity-full flavoured beer, well-hopped made from brown malt using top fermenting style.
Brown Ale
The brown ale has less dark malt character than a porter or stout above.
